Expeditionary Forces are a type of position that is generally used on the surface of a planet, moon, or asteroid. They are capable of slow movement, and if the XF contains enough shuttle may even be able to reach orbit.
An XF can be used to maintain a military presence in a location that lacks a colony, or used to capture a colony or other desired real estate.
